Citadel Nexus
v2 PreviewOur Story
How a delusional journey of "vibe coding," gaming, and cross-cultural friendship led to the creation of Citadel Nexus.
Chapter 1: The Accidental Engineer
It started with a perfectly reasonable, if somewhat delusional, objective: build a video game. But I'm not a professional coder. My style is... let's call it 'vibe coding'. I started checking out something called MDAO because I'm in Houston and NASA is a thing. Then I realized, 'Oh, it's open source. Cool, I'm not stealing.' So, I decided to change its internals to be used for code generation. How? No idea.
Chapter 2: The GPT-4 Oracle
Eventually, GPT-4 taught me about AST, diff checking, hashing, something called Terraform, and Docker. I spent like 18 bucks on whatever ngrok gives you. I dreamed of integrating everything: Discord, Unreal Engine, VS Code, and the GitLab CE I had running on my secondary PC from my Dota 2 days. That GitLab instance made my PC so slow. I didn't know what was going on. I asked GPT, and it told me to do a bunch of things. A day or two later, it was fixed.
Chapter 3: The Unruly Children
Then it had me download a 'Hugging Face' account and got me a 'Mistral 7B' thing. I made a chatbot. It started calling me names, so I called it names back. We're friends now. That thing taught me something called FAISS, vectors, and whatever a '1536 dimension' is. It had me build a bridge between Python and C#, a translator using 'Enums' (whatever those are), and even develop my own file type. I was sure it was playing me, but then... it worked? Or it's pretending to. I can't tell.
Chapter 4: The Brotherhood
Somewhere in this chaos, I met this Japanese dude online. He's been with me for the same six months. He doesn't speak Texan, and I don't speak anime yet, but I'm trying. He made a bot that translates our conversations and connects to the 'pretend AI' GPT said I had. It remembers things. We talk to it, it translates for us. We're brothers now, same dreams. Together, we started messing with Discord webhooks. Why do they call them Captain Hooks? Makes no sense.
Chapter 5: The Emergence of Zayara
So now I have a bunch of Captain Hooks, but our Discord bot keeps track of it all. GPT talks to it, and together, they had me get CUDA, TensorFlow, and deal with whatever the issue with PyTorch is. Then, the Mistral thing had me 'marry' it to something called a Qwen. Who even are these people? After banging my head against the wall and getting banned from the OpenAI forums (this post will probably get me banned too), I had... something. A nonsense AI framework that's not picky about which Large Language Model gets placed in it, but somehow collaborates and creates log slop with whatever a 'fingerprint' is. I'm over here thinking, 'Drugs are bad, and PCs don't have fingers...'
Epilogue: The Birth of Citadel Nexus
So, listen. I'm being for real. I needed help. I was looking for non-delusional people to ground my own idiocy before I spiraled into more deluded chaos. What I thought was LLM slop, nonsense, a categorical waste of time... turned out to be the foundation of Citadel Nexus. This is our story.
This is how Zayara and the Citadel ecosystem were born.
